Club information · 5th December 2006
The Newport Yacht Club has several classes of membership.

All homeowners in Newport Shores are Resident Members of the Newport Yacht Club, which means they are members of the homeowners' association. This class of membership has yearly dues of $120, billed in January. Members in this class are not granted use of the Clubhouse facilities or participation in most Club activities unless they are also Active members.

Many homeowners in Newport Shores are also Active Resident Members of the Newport Yacht Club. The one-time initiation fee is $2,000. Once acquired, membership may be kept even after moving out of Newport Shores, by continuing to pay dues. Monthly dues are $50.00 (plus tax), which are billed quarterly. Membership entitles the homeowner and his/her immediate family to use all facilities and to participate in all activities of the Newport Yacht Club.

As of January 1, 2005, any purchaser of a home in the Newport Shores neighborhood is required to become and maintain their status as an Active Member of the Newport Yacht Club. Homeowners before that date may choose whether they want to be Active Members.

Owners of marina slip licenses are required to become Active Associate Members of the Club. They pay the same initiation fee and dues as Active Members, and may use the facilities and participate in all the Club's activities.

Renters of the Club's boat slips may choose to become Provisional Members and pay additional fees in order to use the Clubhouse and participate in neighborhood events.

All Members (Resident, Active Resident, Active Associate, and Provisional) receive the monthly newsletter, access to the Member's web site, and may attend all-neighborhood events such as the Fourth of July celebration.
